The Assembler in the Repairs department will assemble large and small systems, disassemble and assemble modules; solder electronic components, wires and other electronic parts to designated locations on printed circuit assembly’s in accordance with IPC-A-610 Class 3 requirements.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Disassemble and assemble large and small systems. Disassemble and assemble modules, solder electronic components, wires and other electronic parts to designated locations on printed circuit boards in accordance with IPC-A-610 Class 3 requirements by interpreting assembly drawings and work instructions.
  • Incorporation of engineering changes to new and existing products at board level by interpreting assembly drawings and work instructions. 
  • Record activity into IFS (ERP system) 
  • Configuration control documentation
  • Work all returns, repairs, retrofits per customer needs.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Education and/or Experience:

·        High school diploma or GED required

·        Must be a US person

·        Five plus years of mechanical assembly and soldering experience with THT and SMT hand soldering practices required

·        Once inhouse, must be able to pass the J-STD-001 operator certification program

·        Proven ability to read and understand complex assembly drawings with or without work instructions

·        Ability to successfully pass the in-house soldering test

·        Working knowledge and experience with IFS or similar ERP system a plus

·        Computer skills required for data entry purposes. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications a plus

·        Attention to detail required

·        Working knowledge of IPC-A-610

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Stand, walk, and sit throughout the day
  • Occasionally lift and /or move up to 50 pounds.  Heavier objects may be lifted with the aid of a co-worker or lifting aid. 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Exposed to moving mechanical parts, and low voltage electrical circuits while on the manufacturing floor
  • Moderate noise level in the production area
  • Stand, walk, and sit for a 10-hour shift
  • ESD jacket will be issued for wear while in production cell.  May be required to wear other appropriate personal protective equipment when in restricted manufacturing areas.

WORK SCHEDULES:

  • Normal work hours are Monday – Thursday 9 hour shift 5:30 AM – 4:10 PM, Friday 4 hour shift.
  • Lunch period is 40 minutes per shift, unpaid.
